A cinema which is the heartbeat of the city, milling with premiere events & movie stars has a lineage to maintain while moving into an upgrade. The existing concept an ode to the sea side city of Mumbai replete with wave forms throws in a challenge to create a design while regarding its inheritance.

The design proposal is a concept that creates new functions & material finishes enhancing the user experience complete with technology integration. A new concessions bar in backlit alabaster panels with a wood canopy ceiling is reminiscent of a luxury liner. The low height wave ceiling at arrival stands transformed with texturised sea shell paint in pearlised amber to create surreal floating forms that seem to gently float. The ticket box located on the building corner is at a vantage from the street intersection ventures to create a call out with its entire block emerging out of the building. A deep canopy in gold with tickets signage high mounted on both sides & seamless scrolling led below sharply offsets the grey & glass built mass becoming a beacon at the level.
